Goals & Objectives of Education Offering

PURPOSE OF PRESENTATION:
The course is designed to impart information specific to the principles and concepts related to a standard of professional conduct known as aspirational, or advanced, ethics. The training will describe specific conduct and behaviors necessary to achieve this level of clinical competency, as well as programmatic and treatment issues relevant to aspirational ethics.


COURSE CONTENT AND DESCRIPTION:
This course is presented in programmed-learning module that addresses aspirational ethical standards applicable to certified or licensed addiction professionals in both inpatient and outpatient settings. A pretest will establish a baseline of understanding as well as targeting those areas requiring a refresher or new knowledge. Completion of the programmed workbook will then follow, with a programmed format addressing both treatment and clinical issues surrounding the processes needed to achieve the highest standard of competency within the counseling profession.


EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES:
1. Counselor define aspirational ethics.
2. Counselor will identify the six moral principles forming the foundation of functioning at the highest ethical level.
3. Counselor will understand the components of an Integrated Delivery System.
4. Counselor will recall the ethical decision-making model for aspirational ethics.
5. Counselor will identify federal regulations relating to disclosure and duty to warn.
6. Counselor will be familiar with concepts related to counselor competency.
7. Counselor will characterize qualities necessary for professional growth.
