PURPOSE OF PRESENTATION:
This workbook will provide an overview and concepts associated with Brief
Strategic Family Therapy for adolescents and will further the clinician's skill

into treatment. Case vignettes will complete the training and provide practical
illustration of the material and concepts learned in the training.
COURSE CONTENT AND DESCRIPTION:
This course will explain why Brief Strategic Family Therapy is an effective
modality and will illustrate the goals of BSFT. An in-depth presentation of
context, systems and patterns of family interaction will precede skills
necessary in diagnosing the problems facing families how to both identify the
actual problem and engaging the family into treatment. The workbook is
fashioned in such a way that questions necessary to pass the post test are
imbedded within the training content. This style of learning has shown to
improve retention and recall. The post-test is the final task for the student
