CASE MANAGEMENT ISSUES - 10 hours

PURPOSE OF PRESENTATION:
The course is designed to introduce the reader to principles and concepts
associated with addiction specific case management. Various roles and functions
of a case manager will be addressed along a continuum of services, from the
point of engagement into a treatment system, to aftercare and disengagement.
Additional emphasis will be placed on special populations and specific case
management needs.
COURSE CONTENT AND DESCRIPTION:
This course is presented in programmed-learning module that focuses on case
management for behavioral heath treatment providers and examines various case
management knowledge, skills and attitudes specific to addictions treatment.
EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES:
1. Counselor will learn and recall specific case management principles

Counselor will identify particular functions of case management
3. Counselor
will understand the role of case management in primary treatment.
4. Counselor
will recall the treatment continuum and how case management applies
5.
Counselor will define linking, monitoring and advocacy roles of case management
6. Counselor will recognize special populations requiring case management
needs
