answer sheet and evaluation in a provided envelope, and your certificate is
mailed to you the same day we receive the materials! We will even fax your
certificates free of charge.

Here are more specifics
First of all........it's painless
The above comment is not meant to convey any shortcut or lack of work on the part of the counselor. Instead we've attempted to take into consideration the busy schedules of practicing healthcare professionals and the need to produce trainings that take into consideration adult learning needs. As such, each training module is designed using a programmed-learning format. With this format, counselors are challenged to retain and recall information presented in the workbooks through repetition, but not through unnecessary essay writing or time consuming tasks. Nor do we use video or audio tapes, both of which would escalate costs and restrict one's flexibility by requiring either a tape recorder or TV/video machine. Additionally, many boards require an hour of video/audio per hour of credit awarded; this would make 15 hour courses highly impractical and costly.
The entire process is user-friendly and designed to easily fit into your busy schedule. Understanding the time constraints and demands in the counseling profession, it was our desire to provide a format that would promote learning, yet eliminate the stress often associated with trying to find and obtain continuing educational hours.
The process is as follows:
- Each counselor is mailed a complete package containing a pretest, student learning contract, workbook, post test, and evaluation. Once the mini-pretest is completed, it is placed in a provided envelope. This pretest is NOT a pass/fail process. It is usee to establish a baseline for research purposes.
- The counselor then begins the workbook. Each module differs in length and format. Some require "fill in" responses or they may be True/False or multiple choice questions. The material is designed to maximize retention and recall. Once the workbook is completed, the student then completes the post-test and training evaluation.
- Once the testing materials are received by Laban's Trainings, a certificate of completion, tailored to the needs of the respective licensing or certifying board, is issued to the counselor.
- We ship all trainings and mail all certificates the day we receive them. The entire process is up to you (and the postal service).
