Board Approvals
Laban's Trainings are approved for continuing education hours for recertification (and often initial certification), and licensure required hours for the following list. Most courses are approved in every state, but there are some exceptions - call or email to see what courses are approved in your state unless it is indicated below. Email Laban's Trainings
National Boards
NAADAC provider #: 000105
ASWB: provider # 1037 for Social workers- Continuing education requirements for boards that have endorsed the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB'S) approved continuing education program. Licensing requirement for your state can be found at ASWB

Arizona - There is now licensing in AZ. Please check with your board regulations regarding distance learning hours.

Canada-CACCF: All Approved
Connecticut - CCB All Approved. There is NO limit on the number of distance learning courses for recertification purposes. NEW: A total of 124 hours of CCB approved distance learning may be used for initial certification. Laban's Trainings can be used: click here for CCB verification

Florida - FCB # 167-A
Florida Board of Clinical Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy and Mental Health Counseling - Accept all NBCC approved trainings, with EXCEPTIONS. The state board will not accept our domestic violence training. Additionally, if you are trying to become a state approved supervisor, our three supervision trainings will NOT satisfy the Florida rules, which clearly state the 16 hours must be interactive. Louisiana-LASACT& LSBCSAC:(No. E053) - All Approved: NOTE-As of July 12, 2004, legislation was passed through the State of Louisiana (SB 875). The key information is the new law disbands the Louisiana State Board of Certification for Substance Abuse Counselors and places the Department of Health and Hospitals, office for addictive disorders as the credentialing authority for addictive disorder professionals.
Maine-SBADC- 10 hour limit
Maryland MAPCB - The Maryland Professional Certification Board only accepts 5 hours of Category B CEU's (of the required 20 per year). Category B is defined by the State of Maryland as distance learning and licensed counselors are limited to 10 hours per year in this category.
Massachusetts - MCVCAC will accept NAADAC and ICRC board approved trainings for recertification only. A maximum of 20 hours per recertification period is permitted. This is an increase from the previously allowed 12 hours.
Michigan MAADAC Counselors
Michigan MCBAP - All approved for recertification and some for initial certification. Please visit their web site for details.
Minnesota Statutes 2003, Table of Chapters Table of contents for Chapter 148C 148C.01 Definitions. Subd. 2b. Alcohol and drug counselor continuing education activity. A home study course need not be provided by an accredited school or education program to meet continuing education requirements. Click HERE for more information
Mississippi - MAADAC - All NAADAC courses approved
Missouri - MSACCB - All approved
Montana-All Approved for Licensed Addiction Counselors through the Health Care Licensing Bureau.
Nebraska - DADAAS - Most approved - Call for details or click on individual courses and it will indicate if it's not approved.
Nevada-Board of Examiners-All Approved - We offer the required CONFIDENTIALITY trainings and Ethics for NV counselors.
New Hampshire Certification Board - (10 hour limit)
New Jersey Certification Board-APCBNJ - (30hr limit - recertification ONLY) We also offer prevention hours click here
New Jersey Social Work Board - as of 2/4/01, the board will accept trainings approved by ASWB - Laban's Trainings is an approved ASWB provider
New Mexico Counseling and Therapy Board - Provider # 0068372 -12 hour limit with homestudy per renewal cycle.
New York-OASAS #HS #0014 - Approved for initial certification AND recertification - NO LIMIT ON THE NUMBER OF HOURS FOR EITHER. Most approved for CASAC, CPP and CPS, but click here to see what sections each course falls into.
North Carolina-NCSAPCB - EFFECTIVE DECEMBER, 2004, The North Carolina Board rule changes permit our trainings for INITIAL CERTIFICATION and the amount of hours for recertification have been increased to 50%. For those counselors working on initial certification, you can do up to 50% of the hours via homestudy. The North Carolina Certification Board will accept all of Laban's Trainings.
North Dakota - NDBACE All Approved
Ohio - Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board (OCDP) Provider # 11-0204-54C- no limit on # of hours. As of 7/15/04, 4 of our trainings meet the requirements for the DSM training requirement. Ohio-State of Ohio Counselor and Social Worker Board- Approved for counselors AND social workers (Counselor Provider # RCX080026 Social Worker # RSX010144)- 10 hour limit for licensed counselors and social workers.
Oregon - ACCBO All Accepted
Pacific Substance Abuse and Mental Health Certification Board (PSAMHCB)-representing Guam, Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Republic of Palau, Republic of the Marshall Islands, and American Samoa.
Pennsylvania-PCB #: 305. All Approved - These trainings cannot be used to satisfy the Department of Health Licensing division staffing and training regulations (BDAP). Click here for details
Pennsylvania Social Worker Board: Will accept all of Laban's Trainings since we are an approved ACE ASWB Education Provider (see http://www.pacode.com/secure/data/049/chapter47/chap47toc.html

South Dakota-CBADP - All Approved
Tennessee Board of Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselors- All approved. The Tennessee rules governing licensure of alcohol and drug abuse counselors (1200-30-1-1.2) will accept all NAADAC approved trainings. All of Laban's Trainings are NAADAC approved. There is a 15 hour limit for distance learning trainings in Tennessee.
Texas - (Formerly TCADA)- Beginning 3/1/02, the Texas board will accept up to 60 hours of NAADAC approved homestudy- these are rule changes in Chapter 150 of the Counselor Licensure Rules.
Texas LPC Board-Accepts NBCC approved trainings.
TEXAS - TCBAP Provider #1653-02 - 30 hour limit
Utah - All Approved
United Kingdom - UKPCBADC - Laban's Trainings are approved for certification, recertification and reciprocity for current and potential members in the United Kingdom
Virginia - SACAVA - provider #45-6-02
Washington - CDPWS (15 hours maximum) All Approved
West Virginia - WVCBAP- Expires 04/10 - All courses approved.
Wisconsin -WCB is no longer an entity as of 2/1/2007. The WIDRL has taken over certification. Laban's trainings CANNOT be used towards initial certification at this time. Laban's trainings can be used to satisfy continuing education requirements under the following regulation:RL 166.06-5 Format. A continuing education program may take any of the following forms, with credit for relevant subject matter granted as follows: Self-study courses approved by accredited college or university schools, local or national professional or mental health related organizations, 1 CEH per credit completed, but self-study courses may not be used to satisfy the ethics requirement. Laban's trainings are approved by both local (ICRC) and National (NAADAC, NBCC) professional /mental health related organizations.
